Met East Baseball 14 and Under School Boys/Girls Tryouts

The 14 and under Baseball selection tryouts occur Thursday 24th May at Redlands Baseball Club.

Cost: $14 is required on the day of the trials.

8:30am: Trials commence

3:00pm: Trials concludes

Club uniforms only. No Met East uniforms to be worn.

There is only one tryout session for the team to be selected from.

Nomination Forms: to the Convenor no later than 16/05/2012

Please forward form Form B6 – Student Detail Form.pdf to Simon Wilson the Convenor at swils387@eq.edu.au and akennedy@raptis.com.au

Students must inform their school and sports master if they wish to tryout

Please contact your sports master at school for the forms. If you have no luck please email akennedy@raptis.com.au who will assist.

Yes, it’s that time of the year again. We will be holding the AGM on Wednesday 20th June at 7pm in the clubhouse. So if you’re keen to put your name in the ring for a committee position, please have a look at the relevant position description/s here. Please pass on to your Committee and members my congratulations and thanks for excellent way you conducted and ran the Little League Tournament over the last 4 days.

Your club should be extremely proud of how they conducted this event – you have raised the bar for other clubs to follow.

To see so many teams play so hard, yet clearly enjoying themselves is a credit to the sport and the organisational skills of your club.

Timberjacks Tournament

In preparation for the 2012 U18 State Titles, Brisbane South will be sending an U18 team to the Timberjacks tournament in Lismore. The tournament will be held from Friday 6 July to Sunday 8 July 2012.

This tournament is a great weekend, provides players more game time prior to the 2012/13 season and will also form part of the team selection process when selecting the Brisbane South team for the State Titles.

Please email David Badke, Regional Director of Coaching at badger26@bigpond.com to register your interest by no later than Sunday 15 April 2012.

Field Maintenance 24th & 25th March

Finish off ballpen Field 1 (3rd base side) – Cutout and gravel for home plates, finish mound.
Build ballpen Field 1 (1st base side) – Timber surrounds (mound) install pitching plates, dirt for mound, cutout and gravel for home plates, backnets.
Repairs to fences (mostly field 1 behind home plate at ground level)
Empty all bins
General tidy of umpires, first aid and change rooms
Install foul ball nets on field 3
Mowing and edging of all terraces and field surrounds
Repairs to screens
Install nets into new L screen frames
